Monitor Huáscar's Bidari Ansola got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráuzio Saldanha was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Internazionale-RS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Rodolfo Pontes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ferman Basabe. Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ovidio Varez charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ovidio Varez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th match minute, Monitor Huáscar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Varez to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes Internazionale-RS got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Ceresso. Ricardo Rivadeneyra-Gamonal was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gino Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bidari Ansola in the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Monitor Huáscar booed when Internazionale-RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Internazionale-RS's Gino Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Konstantinos Rivadeneyra in the 47th minute of play.

Internazionale-RS made a substitution. Alfredinho Macedo replaced Dráuzio Saldanha. In the 58th minute Bidari Ansola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Washington Costa hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Leizarraga Ergueta replaced Jonathan Molino. Washington Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Gino Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ferman Basabe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Sena in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Aparecido came free, but Ferman Basabe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Internazionale-RS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Horácio Oliveira hit a great ball. Leizarraga Ergueta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Gonçalves having to interfere. Chants of Monitor Huáscar echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Internazionale-RS had held the ball for most of the match.
