Gutenberg's Jesus Pereyra managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rodrigo Penha in the 3 minute of the game. SORRISO E. C.'s Yan Penha suffered a sore thigh after 5 minutes and couldn't finish the game. SORRISO E. C. made a substitution. Ulysses Pimenta replaced Yan Penha. Faustino Pedroso hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Alfredo da Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Rojelio having to make a save. If Alfredo da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sebastian Rojelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Gutenberg's Jesus Pereyra got a free kick in the 12th minute. SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fausto Peruanton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When SORRISO E. C.'s Alfredo da Rocha in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gutenberg's goalie prevented a goal. In the 27th minute, Alberto Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SORRISO E. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the SORRISO E. C. defense, Fausto Peruanton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas Viana. The SORRISO E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas Viana should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Jerrald during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Fausto Peruanton made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Viana. SORRISO E. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Sebastian Rojelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Mendonça in the 43rd minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Alberto Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gutenberg's zone, Alberto Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Rojelio came out of the goal and Alberto Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gutenberg's Santo Dominguez was substituted for Miguel Silvino. Douglas Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Ovando in the 69th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, SORRISO E. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Bueno to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th match minute, Gutenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Fliz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Gutenberg's zone, Carlos Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Rojelio came out of the goal and Carlos Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Rojelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Gutenberg support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
