After 6 played minutes ASC South United got a freekick which was hit by Gert van Westerop. Erwin Teesing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. October 04's Wesley Teles came free and shot a quick shot against goal 12 minutes in the game, fortunately Erwin Teesing had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 20th minute, Gert van Westerop ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narciso Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, ASC South United's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Teles came free, but Erwin Teesing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Wesley Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erwin Teesing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, ASC South United's Erwin Teesing got control of the ball when Wesley Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erwin Teesing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Teles in the 34th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolf van der Saar during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ASC South United getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Rolf van der Saar hit a great ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind October 04's goalkeeper Narciso Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wesley Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gert van Westerop to make the kick off. A collision led to October 04 getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ruy Lira hit a great ball. The supporters of ASC South United booed when October 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duarte Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taco Scholte in the 63rd minute of play forced October 04's goalkeeper Narciso Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ASC South United's Taco Scholte got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gert van Westerop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert van Westerop could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Narciso Guimarães made a huge save. Narciso Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taco Scholte, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The October 04 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ASC South United's performance. The match ended with a win for ASC South United.
