The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Canado in the 6th minute of play forced IKS Norrköping's goalkeeper Gustav Göransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustav Göransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Canado in the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, IKS Norrköping's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Faron came free, but Gustav Göransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The nice shot from Bengt Askberg in the 13thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Vincente Monzon had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Bengt Askberg did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Vincente Monzon 13 minutes into the match. German Canado scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustav Göransson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute Olle Hjälm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincente Monzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olle Hjälm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincente Monzon having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Felix Olloa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caaguazu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IKS Norrköping the free kick. A collision led to Caaguazu getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Felix Olloa hit a great ball. Vincente Monzon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Askberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Vincente Monzon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olle Hjälm's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Olle Hjälm put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Vincente Monzon. Valente Nieva kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Bengt Askberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caaguazu's Mancio Rapela was substituted for Aurre Belorado.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valente Nieva was the one to do the kick off. When Cordareo Lazcano fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caaguazu's protests and gave Cordareo Lazcano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of IKS Norrköping booed when Caaguazu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cordareo Lazcano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Olle Hjälm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 60 played minutes Caaguazu got a freekick which was hit by Pankracy Kasiewski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olle Hjälm in the 65th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Vincente Monzon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the game, IKS Norrköping's Olle Hjälm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vincente Monzon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. The IKS Norrköping fans cheered their team off the field, for while Caaguazu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
