Atay Türegün made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 15th minute of play. Ferhat Kaya made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Servando in the 21st minute of play. Aaron Smallwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Mancinelli in the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Santos FC booed when MegaFenerbahce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristian Markham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferhat Kaya made in the 27th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bengt-Åke Fransson.
