With a little luck, Black Dragons's Hannes Dresdner got control of the ball when Ke Xiong Chen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 8th minute of the match Sporting Burgas got a corner. Black Dragons's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Davor Šuker ran over to the corner to take the kick. Álvaro Perpiñán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from I Putu í Lon Jacobsen in the 10th minute of play. After some careless play in the Black Dragons defense, Ke Xiong Chen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannes Dresdner. The Black Dragons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannes Dresdner should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sporting Burgas's Cedro Pantoja got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17thth minute of the game I Putu í Lon Jacobsen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, I Putu í Lon Jacobsen put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Álvaro Perpiñán. Hannes Dresdner came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Burgas's Davor Šuker. But to his dismay, Davor Šuker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 26th match minute, Black Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Gustafsson to maneuver through the defense. Davor Šuker struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Hannes Dresdner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Burgas. 31 minutes into the match, Sporting Burgas's goal looked a bit too open when I Putu í Lon Jacobsen came free, but Álvaro Perpiñán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Sporting Burgas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oskars Junco to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Waud Soetemans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that I Putu í Lon Jacobsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Álvaro Perpiñán was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

53 minutes into the match, Black Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Ke Xiong Chen came free, but Hannes Dresdner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Álvaro Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waud Soetemans in the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Black Dragons's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Davor Šuker was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Burgas's players had a chance to rest. In the 64th minute, Cedro Pantoja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 67 in the game by I Putu í Lon Jacobsen from a close distance when the talented Álvaro Perpiñán managed to make a qualified save. Sporting Burgas's players were relieved. Hannes Dresdner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vintilă Ghițulescu in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, Sporting Burgas's Davor Šuker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hannes Dresdner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Sporting Burgas's Antonio Fioriti was substituted for Vintilă Ghițulescu. In the 82nd minute Antonio Fioriti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Dresdner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Antonio Fioriti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hannes Dresdner was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Hannes Dresdner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davor Šuker in the 84th minute of the match. Hannes Dresdner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Fioriti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sporting Burgas booed when Black Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. I Putu í Lon Jacobsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Burgas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
