Udinese players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Oliver Shirley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brice Leach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Junior Maldini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Cagnetta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brice Leach read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Fedele Schiacciacasse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ellsworth Lindsay, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Lee Coffman had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Corrado Restaino fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.S. Udinese's protests and gave Corrado Restaino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Corrado Restaino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brice Leach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Maldini, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Emiliano Scannella hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Varennes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Junior Maldini scored to the left of an out of position Brice Leach, making the score, 1-0. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Ermanno Moscatelli replaced Junior Maldini. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Loic Deal made a kick off. In the 59th minute, Ermanno Moscatelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brice Leach was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 64th minute, Varennes's Loic Deal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. When Ermanno Moscatelli came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the A.S. Udinese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermanno Moscatelli couldn't finish the play. Brice Leach stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ermanno Moscatelli's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Varennes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filippo Di Cesare was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Udinese's players had a chance to rest. In the 73rd minute, Silvio Che hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Ermanno Moscatelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brice Leach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Varennes's Brice Leach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filippo Di Cesare in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermanno Moscatelli in the 91st minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Brice Leach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermanno Moscatelli in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brice Leach saved Varennes from getting behind. A.S. Udinese's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
