The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Mats Asklund put in a rough tackle. In the 3rd minute, one of Karen FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Karen FC. The referee gave Egg Chasers FC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sebastian Selby, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Karen FC's Bengt-Åke Smitt. 0-1. Patrick Toovey charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Toovey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Karen FC booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Toovey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Toovey kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When Per Sjögren fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karen FC's protests and gave Per Sjögren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Sjögren to maneuver through the defense. Bengt-Åke Smitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dane Oldham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Egg Chasers FC's zone, Rutger Löv stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradley Longstaffe came out of the goal and Rutger Löv tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bengt-Åke Smitt came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Egg Chasers FC's David Davenport. But to his dismay, David Davenport quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rutger Löv blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bradley Longstaffe having to make a save. Jay Mullen scored 0-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bengt-Åke Smitt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Calle Wanner charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calle Wanner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Egg Chasers FC made a substitution. Harvey Frost replaced Gareth Rowe. After 37 played minutes Karen FC got a freekick which was hit by Calle Wanner. Bengt-Åke Smitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jay Mullen in the 38th minute of play. Morgan Vennerlund tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Bengt-Åke Smitt. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-4 in the 40th minute. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Per Sjögren to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Byron Radcliffe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Egg Chasers FC and the Karen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 51 played minutes Egg Chasers FC got a freekick which was hit by Byron Radcliffe. Bradley Longstaffe came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Karen FC's Calle Wanner. But to his dismay, Calle Wanner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 62nd minute Byron Radcliffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Åke Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Byron Radcliffe got free with Bengt-Åke Smitt in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bengt-Åke Smitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jay Mullen in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Byron Radcliffe made a precise shot to the right of Bengt-Åke Smitt. Karen FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Karen FC's Bengt-Åke Smitt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Karen FC from getting a goal against them. After 70 played minutes Karen FC got a freekick which was hit by Calle Wanner. Nils Ekeroth kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Bengt-Åke Smitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jay Mullen in the 75th minute of the match. Bengt-Åke Smitt was a little too slow when Byron Radcliffe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-7. Karen FC's Bengt-Åke Smitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byron Radcliffe in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Sörman to maneuver through the defense. Byron Radcliffe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Bengt-Åke Smitt made a huge save. 95 minutes into the game, Egg Chasers FC's Byron Radcliffe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt-Åke Smitt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8.
