Dušan Ančic made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Percival in the 93rd minute of play forced Real Soccer FC's goalkeeper Aristide Lung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, one of Real Soccer FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Soccer FC. Club Atlético de Newell were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
