The audience was convinced that Frank Mees's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barrie Kerridge was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Henter Somosd's goalkeeper Paulo Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, FC Henter Somosd's Paulo Leão got control of the ball when Baran Erozan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Leão. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. Wilian Baptista hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The long shot by Baran Erozan in the 31st minute really tested Paulo Leão's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 37th minute Frank Mees shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie Kerridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leszek Cupial in the 41st minute. The supporters of FC Henter Somosd booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gábor Illés didn't get a good kick on the ball.
