Ola Stachurskas short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Maxim Miclauș to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 15th minute of the match Mosezzo got a corner. PHOENIX BUCURESTI's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lopez Guernica ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mosezzo's corner Lopez Guernica fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Maxim Miclauș quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ola Stachurska in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxim Miclauș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A nice corner shot did that Mircea Voina got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gino Zoff quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ola Stachurska's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Maxim Miclauș skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Ciro Raimondi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ola Stachurska could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Maxim Miclauș made a huge save. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Ola Stachurska sped through PHOENIX BUCURESTI's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Maxim Miclauș. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ola Stachurska made a kick off.
