Flamengo's Sem Titulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Neto in the 6th minute of play. If Aírton Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo de Godoi in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Matheus Neto came free, but Sem Titulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Vascogoianiense FC were awarded a corner. Aírton Sousa went to the cornerflag to take it. Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sem Titulescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Matheus Neto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Sem Titulescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Sem Titulescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cássio Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Flamengo's Sem Titulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Monteiro in the 30th minute of play. Sem Titulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Monteiro in the 31st minute of play. Sem Titulescu came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro. But to his dismay, Gilmar Monteiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sem Titulescu. That made the score 2-0 after 34 minutes of play. Agnaldo de Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agnaldo de Godoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agnaldo de Godoi hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When Vascogoianiense FC's Matheus Neto in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flamengo's goalie prevented a goal. When Matheus Neto came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Vascogoianiense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matheus Neto couldn't finish the play. Aírton Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matheus Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. When Aírton Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Vascogoianiense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aírton Sousa couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Gilmar Monteiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vascogoianiense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Nelsinho Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aírton Sousa in the 59th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Sem Titulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Aírton Sousa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sem Titulescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Hoffmann hit a great ball. Vascogoianiense FC's Edmílson Fernandez was substituted for Sidnei Leão. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Luís Fabiano Hoffmann got a free kick in the 63rd minute. If Matheus Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Matheus Neto came free, but Sem Titulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sem Titulescu came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro. But to his dismay, Gilmar Monteiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Vascogoianiense FC made a substitution. Waldemar Ortiz replaced Válbson Pontes. In the 75th minute, Luís Fabiano Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gilmar Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matheus Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sem Titulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Aírton Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sem Titulescu. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aírton Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The Vascogoianiense FC fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Vascogoianiense FC's Matheus Neto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 90 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's Carlos Eduardo Sergipano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sem Titulescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matheus Neto in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sem Titulescu saved Flamengo from getting behind. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Matheus Neto sped through Flamengo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sem Titulescu. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Vascogoianiense FC had played much better football throughout.
