Joseph Algren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Qin Kun Xi went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Qin Kun Xi scored 0-2 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Algren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Крылья Советов's Narciso Frechoso threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mamaar Fergani, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Narciso Frechoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mamaar Fergani's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Narciso Frechoso made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Mamaar Fergani sent off a good shot on target. Velez sarsfield's Narciso Frechoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Velez sarsfield from getting a goal against them. Roman Eliseev hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Joseph Algren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qin Kun Xi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Velez sarsfield's Narciso Frechoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maksim Esipov in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute Kutlay Umay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Frechoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Algren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qin Kun Xi in the 40th minute of the match. Joseph Algren came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Velez sarsfield's Qin Kun Xi. But to his dismay, Qin Kun Xi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The supporters of Крылья Советов booed when Velez sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Regis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kutlay Umay to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Крылья Советов's Joseph Algren got control of the ball when Qin Kun Xi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joseph Algren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qin Kun Xi in the 55th minute of play. Qin Kun Xi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joseph Algren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After 59 minutes Крылья Советов's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabio Regis who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Fabio Regis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joseph Algren quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 64 minutes into the match, Крылья Советов's goal looked a bit too open when Qin Kun Xi came free, but Joseph Algren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Frechoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kutlay Umay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Qin Kun Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Algren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Крылья Советов booed when Velez sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Regis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Velez sarsfield made a substitution. Walter Pico replaced Qin Kun Xi. Fabio Regis kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Walter Pico scored 0-5 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Algren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th minute, Murilo Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Крылья Советов's Murilo Loureiro got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 93rd minute, Walter Pico fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Joseph Algren, passed just outside the right post. Velez sarsfield's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
