A collision led to Bahçesaray SK getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Arcan Özekan hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Tugay Ekemen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cahit Taşdemir. Bahçesaray SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tugay Ekemen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The Genclerbirliği fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Genclerbirliği's Tugay Ekemen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tugay Ekemen in the 20th minute of play forced Bahçesaray SK's goalkeeper Cahit Taşdemir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Bahçesaray SK's goalkeeper Cahit Taşdemir had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmet Refik Kamuran. Ahmet Refik Kamuran took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cahit Taşdemir. Cahit Taşdemir dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Bahçesaray SK's Cahit Taşdemir proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Bahçesaray SK from getting a goal against them. Cahit Taşdemir made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Ahmet Refik Kamuran sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd minute Hakkı Kenan Özbekkan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trond Bjørheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bahçesaray SK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Tugay Ekemen scored to the left of an out of position Cahit Taşdemir, making the score, 5-0. Ahmet Refik Kamuran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Cahit Taşdemir made a huge save. Cahit Taşdemir was a little too slow when Ahmet Refik Kamuran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 6-0. 45 minutes into the game, Tugay Ekemen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Cahit Taşdemir was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hakkı Kenan Özbekkan made a kick off. Genclerbirliği's Trond Bjørheim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aşır Koyak in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Genclerbirliği's Kamil Kılıçer got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Trond Bjørheim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aşır Koyak in the 65th minute of play. Cahit Taşdemir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Refik Kamuran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cahit Taşdemir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tugay Ekemen in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Mustafa Emrah Alptekin made a precise shot to the right of Cahit Taşdemir. Bahçesaray SK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Bahçesaray SK's Cahit Taşdemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Emrah Alptekin in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Sabri Tezcan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cahit Taşdemir. Bahçesaray SK's Ali Nabi Taze managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sabri Tezcan in the 91 minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Tugay Ekemen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cahit Taşdemir was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-1.

Genclerbirliği's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
