In the 11th minute, 曲誉真 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 程康浩 was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 1-1 became the score in the 16th minute when 肖星适 elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. From a short distance, Rapid Wien's 肖星适, in the 22nd minute, tried to place the ball behind 许冰云, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. The supporters of Rapid Wien booed when Central Coast Mariners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. 曲誉真 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, 冯强剑 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 许冰云 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 肖星适 in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute 齐斌适 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 程康浩 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 林思明 succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 38th playminute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

53 minutes into the match, 肖星适 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 许冰云. Central Coast Mariners's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 肖星适 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 曲誉真 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. 程康浩 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 程康浩 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曲誉真 in the 70th minute of play. 林思明 hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, 齐斌适 reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of 程康浩. The goal made the score 3-2. In the 88th minute, 冯强剑 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 冯强剑 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 许冰云 having to interfere. Central Coast Mariners's 许冰云 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 冯强剑 in the 95th minute of play.
