Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zlatan Gigant in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind United's goalkeeper Sabahattin Erten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Qarabulud La Forgia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabahattin Erten having to interfere. Nicolaas Terhorst charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolaas Terhorst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Mikelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Luke Clist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Erten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, United's Ernesto Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 46th minute. Qarabulud La Forgia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Sabahattin Erten made a huge save.

Palmeiras's Waldemar Jacinto was substituted for Michel Sergipano. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, United's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Donato came free, but Sabahattin Erten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chants of United echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Palmeiras had held the ball for most of the match.
