After 2 minutes of play, ACF Fiorentina's Burkhard Böck made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gaur Abastas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bengt-Rune Fastesson scored 0-2 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaur Abastas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 11 minutes into the game, Bengt-Rune Fastesson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Gaur Abastas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The ACF Fiorentina fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when ACF Fiorentina's Hildeberto Carvalho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th minute ACF Fiorentina were awarded a corner. Gabriel Gaufred went to the cornerflag to take it. Gaur Abastas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Rune Fastesson in the 21st minute of play. ACF Fiorentina's Federico Kalinowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Txindoki Abeijon in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Gabriel Gaufred left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ACF Fiorentina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. After some careless play in the Manchester City defense, Burkhard Böck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaur Abastas. The Manchester City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaur Abastas should have stopped the shot. After 40th play minutes Burkhard Böck shot 0-8, a short shot which went by Gaur Abastas and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 45 minutes, Claude Abenda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Abenda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-8 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bengt-Rune Fastesson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Bengt-Rune Fastesson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gaur Abastas. That made the score 0-9 in the 51 minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Bengt-Rune Fastesson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gaur Abastas, 0-10. Manchester City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Burkhard Böck scored to the left of an out of position Gaur Abastas, making the score, 0-11. A throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game was made by Opilano Abeijon with Dolfos Abajas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Txindoki Abeijon hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the game, ACF Fiorentina's Maximino Cabezon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gaur Abastas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-13. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Cabezon in the 80th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Gaur Abastas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaur Abastas made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Maximino Cabezon sent off a good shot on target. 85 minutes into the match, Maximino Cabezon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gaur Abastas, 0-14. Maximino Cabezon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute Maximino Cabezon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaur Abastas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximino Cabezon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gaur Abastas came out and tried to block the shot, but Maximino Cabezon slotted it home off the left post making it 0-15 in the 94th minute.
