If Marcos Gomez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Cresitobalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Eguntsenti in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Gomez in the 9th minute of play forced Deportivo Esmeralda's goalkeeper Boleslaw Tyski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Munio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boleslaw Tyski having to interfere. Martin Eufemio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Jonathan Cresitobalo made a huge save. Arnulfo Bela lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 15 minutes into the game, one of Defensa y Justicia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Defensa y Justicia's Jonathan Cresitobalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Eufemio in the 20th minute of play. If Marcos Gomez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Marcos Gomez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensa y Justicia's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Gomez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boleslaw Tyski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Defensa y Justicia's Jonathan Cresitobalo got control of the ball when Silvio Luar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Gomez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boleslaw Tyski having to interfere. Jonathan Cresitobalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Eguntsenti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Gomez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Cresitobalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Eguntsenti in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Defensa y Justicia defense, Martin Eufemio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Cresitobalo. The Defensa y Justicia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Cresitobalo should have stopped the shot. Silvio Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Cresitobalo having to interfere. Defensa y Justicia's Jonathan Cresitobalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Eufemio in the 72nd minute of play. After 76 played minutes Defensa y Justicia got a freekick which was hit by Gualterio Sotil. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cipriano Eguntsenti in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Cresitobalo saved Defensa y Justicia from getting behind. Jonathan Cresitobalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Eufemio in the 78th minute of play. When Arsenio Paz came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Deportivo Esmeralda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arsenio Paz couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Cresitobalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Paz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Cresitobalo came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Esmeralda's Martin Eufemio. But to his dismay, Martin Eufemio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Deportivo Esmeralda had won after a very even match.
