The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sven-Olof Vestlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™'s Kurt Björkdahl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™ from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Sven-Olof Vestlund reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kurt Björkdahl. The goal made the score 1-0. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvise Di Crescenzo in the 39th minute of play. Sven-Olof Vestlund might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kurt Björkdahl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Olof Vestlund ran back to his position shaking his head. Kurt Björkdahl made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Sven-Olof Vestlund sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™ booed when CAN ERZURUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Zanetti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Marcin Baszczyński hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Sven-Olof Vestlund made the kick off in the second half. Joar Scheie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomasz Fosaa in the 56th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™ got a freekick which was hit by Tomasz Wojtowicz. ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™'s attentive Pablo Erosa managed to snatch the ball when Javier Zanetti made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. The throw-in from Javier Zanetti in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™'s Pablo Erosa. In the 64th minute, ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™'s Alvise Di Crescenzo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joar Scheie. Joar Scheie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvise Di Crescenzo in the 67th minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Joar Scheie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sven-Olof Vestlund came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the CAN ERZURUM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Olof Vestlund couldn't finish the play. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomasz Fosaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ★Stadion Śląski Chorzów★™'s Pablo Erosa got a free kick in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the match, CAN ERZURUM's goal looked a bit too open when Alvise Di Crescenzo came free, but Joar Scheie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvise Di Crescenzo in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joar Scheie saved CAN ERZURUM from getting behind. Kurt Björkdahl came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by CAN ERZURUM's Okanalp Doğu. But to his dismay, Okanalp Doğu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. CAN ERZURUM were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
