Håkan Kjellman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ingemar Willig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Peter Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Willig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Åke Pålsson hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Jörgen Ekeroth might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ingemar Willig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valentin Ivarsson made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andréas Rudberg during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Zenit Saint Petersburg booed when Stennäs FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andréas Rudberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Zafer Hürsel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henning Lingren. Håkan Björklund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Zafer Hürsel made a huge save. 83 minutes into the match, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Andréas Rudberg came free, but Zafer Hürsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
