With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Werderaner 04 Volkssport booed when Maksimir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frano Letina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basil Lübeck got a throw-in 11 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Wladimir Jungwirth. Benno Schellhase made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Maksimir's Frano Letina. In the 16th minute, Jonas Küttner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Križanec was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 22ndth minute of the game Danijel Petrlin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Nestor Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benno Schellhase made in the 24th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Wladimir Jungwirth however managed to control. 27 minutes into the match, Maksimir's goal looked a bit too open when Keith Harms came free, but Antonio Križanec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Werderaner 04 Volkssport's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adam Dodaj was slow to take the kick. During this time Maksimir's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Maksimir's corner Adam Dodaj fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nestor Romero quite easily take care of the ball. Antonio Križanec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Küttner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Danijel Petrlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Danijel Petrlin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maksimir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danijel Petrlin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Antonio Hrste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maksimir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Werderaner 04 Volkssport the free kick. Antonio Hrste kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Maksimir's Antonio Hrste nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nestor Romero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wladimir Jungwirth to make the kick off. With a little luck, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Nestor Romero got control of the ball when Antonio Hrste tried to sneak it across the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Werderaner 04 Volkssport's Wladimir Jungwirth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Križanec narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antonio Hrste could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Nestor Romero made a huge save.
