The audience thought a goal was coming when Eder Lopes got free with Venancio Cesario in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th minute Ernesto Poncio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Ernesto Poncio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eder Lopes got free with Venancio Cesario in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Yofré AFC's Venancio Cesario got control of the ball when Francisco Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Mario Boulier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sabadim Harammes PRD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 26 minutes into the match, Sabadim Harammes PRD's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Poncio came free, but Mauro Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Messi in the 27th minute of play forced Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalkeeper Mauro Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Orlando Lizardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ernesto Poncio came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Yofré AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Poncio couldn't finish the play. Tao Yao Xi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Venancio Cesario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sabadim Harammes PRD's Mauro Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Poncio in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute of the match Yofré AFC got a corner. Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Primitivo Oihenarte ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Primitivo Oihenarte got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mauro Cunha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eder Lopes was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Yofré AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton de Lima to maneuver through the defense. Mauro Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Poncio, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. If Orlando Lizardi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Boulier in the 57th minute of play forced Yofré AFC's goalkeeper Venancio Cesario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venancio Cesario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionel Bălăiță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalkeeper Mauro Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Yofré AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Bălăiță came free, but Venancio Cesario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalkeeper Mauro Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mateo Messi. In the 75th match minute, Yofré AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton de Lima to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute Ionel Bălăiță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Cesario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Figueiredo scored 2-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Venancio Cesario, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Yofré AFC's Matias Preto was substituted for Ernesto Poncio. The crowd rose to their feet as Orlando Lizardi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mauro Cunha. That made the score 2-2 in the 89 minute of play. Neither Sabadim Harammes PRD or Yofré AFC succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

The supporters of Yofré AFC booed when Sabadim Harammes PRD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 100 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Bastide didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matias Preto struck a weak shot in the 101st minute. Mauro Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yofré AFC. Venancio Cesario was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yofré AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
