The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barcellos Mineiro FC. 0-1 came in the 14th minute when Xande Campbell all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Patricio Ugutz. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Ludomil Ziomkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Dolar in the 20th minute of play. Dale Dolar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomil Ziomkowski having to interfere. Patricio Ugutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein got free with Patricio Ugutz in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Barcellos Mineiro FC defense, Wlodzimierz Swoboda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patricio Ugutz. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patricio Ugutz should have stopped the shot.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
