Wilbur Hyde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Canalla de Chicago's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Argyris Ksagorarakis was slow to take the kick. During this time Panionios MK's players had a chance to rest. Omiros Maniatis was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 62nd minute, Domingo Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, El Canalla de Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Corrigan came free, but Wilbur Hyde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Justin Raines who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panionios MK's Erik Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Panionios MK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
