With a little luck, Geležinis Vilkas's Arne Rusterholz got control of the ball when Julian Raymundo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geležinis Vilkas's Arne Rusterholz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Geležinis Vilkas from getting a goal against them. I. booed when Geležinis Vilkas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toto Malaiholo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Raymundo got free with Arne Rusterholz in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute Arévalo Miñaca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alirio Ducoing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Q. T. I.'s goal looked a bit too open when Arévalo Miñaca came free, but Alirio Ducoing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Raymundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Arne Rusterholz made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Q. T. I.'s zone, Eitautas Ivoška stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alirio Ducoing came out of the goal and Eitautas Ivoška tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Arévalo Miñaca made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Q. T. I. booed when Geležinis Vilkas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Q. T. I.'s Faustino Txerran was substituted for Carlos Sergi. Q. T. I.'s Casimiro Guillelmus was substituted for Julian Raymundo. Anibal Lluques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Rusterholz having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Geležinis Vilkas got a freekick which was hit by Saulius Grapskis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Lluques in the 68th minute of play forced Geležinis Vilkas's goalkeeper Arne Rusterholz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Alirio Ducoing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74thth minute of the game Arévalo Miñaca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Q. T. I.'s Alirio Ducoing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arévalo Miñaca scored 0-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alirio Ducoing, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute, Casimiro Guillelmus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne Rusterholz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Arévalo Miñaca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geležinis Vilkas's supporters rose to their feet, but Arévalo Miñaca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alirio Ducoing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 1-1. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

I.'s players was becoming tired in their legs when Geležinis Vilkas's Arévalo Miñaca did the kick off in the second half of the overtime. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arévalo Miñaca in the 117th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alirio Ducoing saved Q. T. I. from getting behind. Alirio Ducoing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arévalo Miñaca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geležinis Vilkas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
