A collision led to Club Atletico Los Andes getting a freekick after 133 minutes play. Matias Rivas hit a great ball. After 30 minutes of extra-time there was still no winner. The players now faced the much dreaded penalty shoot-out.

Dochko Rodev had in the 136thth minute some difficulties stopping Cazimir Gogea's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee gave Club Atletico Los Andes a penalty, 140 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Victoriano Loreto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas. 1-3. In the 141st minute there was a penalty for Sporting Cristal. Tobias Larsson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dochko Rodev. 2-3. Sporting Cristal:s Dochko Rodev showed great skill when he stopped Gong Yi Bang:s penalty. After 143 played minutes Gong Yi Bang shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Sporting Cristal's Jon Iruegas to catch but Gong Yi Bang was lucky. It became 2-4 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 143rd minute there was a penalty for Sporting Cristal. Jon Iruegas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dochko Rodev. 3-4. The Club Atletico Los Andes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
