In the 13th match minute, Internacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ege Deniz to maneuver through the defense. Geronimo Rulli was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Antonio Sampo. Arturo Tosi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Laércio de Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Tosi. Bagni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Rafael Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arturo Tosi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laércio de Andrade went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute of the match, Camillo Genovese tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Geronimo Rulli saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 38 minutes into the match, Laércio de Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arturo Tosi. Bagni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laércio de Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 42nd minute Bagni were awarded a corner. Antonio Sampo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Bagni's Antonio Sampo to fire away a dangerous shot which Geronimo Rulli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Arturo Nardone dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Geronimo Rulli, 1-3.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio de Andrade in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arturo Tosi saved Bagni from getting behind. 54 minutes into the match, Bagni's goalkeeper Arturo Tosi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio de Andrade. Arturo Tosi was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Laércio de Andrade capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Laércio de Andrade really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. 62 minutes into the match, Internacional's Laércio de Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arturo Tosi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Laércio de Andrade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Tosi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Internacional's Arturo Tosi threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rafael Abarca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bagni's goalkeeper Arturo Tosi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Laércio de Andrade reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arturo Tosi. The goal made the score 1-5. Internacional's Evaristo Costa was substituted for Laércio de Andrade. After having played for 87 minutes, Evaristo Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Internacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th match minute, Internacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo-Enrique Abeijon to maneuver through the defense. Internacional's Geronimo Rulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Genovese in the 89th minute of play. Bagni's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arrigo Melone in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute, Internacional's Evaristo Costa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Arturo Tosi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After 96 minutes of play, Internacional's Evaristo Costa made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arturo Tosi was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Bagni supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Internacional's performance. The match ended with a win for Internacional.
