Sabin Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Costa in the 31st minute of play. FC Aquile Azzurre's Sabin Pânzaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atalay Turkay in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robinho Urbano in the 40th minute of play forced FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Sabin Pânzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Fulco Urra fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Capibaribe Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Thomás Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filippo Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
