Caxias do Sul's Breno Vergílio got a free kick in the 37th minute. Aurelio Walme came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville United - FSCMZ's Mané Lara. But to his dismay, Mané Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Fernando Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Joinville United - FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jacek Krzynowek took the corner. 60 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Aurelio Walme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mané Lara. In the 63rd minute, Mané Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joinville United - FSCMZ made a substitution. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Walme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme got control of the ball when Lennart Khan tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Aurelio Walme threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lennart Khan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
