Fabian Czeszejko scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barrie Kerridge, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabian Czeszejko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute Kim Bolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolek Kiszkiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sixto Yanguas hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Olimpia HSB's Rodney Lindov got a free kick in the 17th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Olimpia HSB's Fabian Czeszejko slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Barrie Kerridge. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. Fabian Czeszejko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Barrie Kerridge made a huge save. When Sliema Dragons FC's Leszek Cupial in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olimpia HSB's goalie prevented a goal. Sliema Dragons FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baran Erozan in the 28th minute. After 32 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Pepe Ferreira. 33 minutes into the match, Fabian Czeszejko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barrie Kerridge. Sliema Dragons FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabian Czeszejko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Fabian Czeszejko in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barrie Kerridge, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Nikola Mirotić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olimpia HSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikola Mirotić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barrie Kerridge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Pepe Ferreira in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Olimpia HSB's Fernando Morientes. In the 62nd minute of the game Sixto Yanguas made a throw-in which Fabian Czeszejko played forward. Barrie Kerridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Czeszejko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Olimpia HSB getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ezequiel Abecia hit a great ball. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Dejan Cassar replaced Kim Bolas. In the 66th minute, Ezequiel Abecia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dejan Cassar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Tolek Kiszkiel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Barrie Kerridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Czeszejko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74thth minute of the game Baran Erozan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olimpia HSB's Tolek Kiszkiel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tolek Kiszkiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baran Erozan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Nikola Mirotić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie Kerridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dejan Cassar in the 78th minute of play forced Olimpia HSB's goalkeeper Tolek Kiszkiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Olimpia HSB's Leon Piekarczyk got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Olimpia HSB's Jacek Pietrowiak was substituted for Fabian Czeszejko. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when Olimpia HSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Piekarczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olimpia HSB's Tolek Kiszkiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leszek Cupial in the 86th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Tolek Kiszkiel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Olimpia HSB's Calito Izquierdoz managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pepe Ferreira in the 95 minute of the game. Barrie Kerridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikola Mirotić in the 96th minute of play.
