The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandu Vasiliu got free with Stig-Åke Bennet in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute of the match, Marius Macovei tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stig-Åke Bennet saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Stig-Åke Bennet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Barbăsură in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Vali Barbăsură dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Stig-Åke Bennet, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastian Grönlund during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastian Grönlund hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Stig-Åke Bennet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Macovei in the 21st minute of play. When Vali Barbăsură got free in front of the goal in the 24th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Stig-Åke Bennet was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Stig-Åke Bennet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandu Vasiliu went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Vidman in the 30th minute of play forced Arsenal Giulesti's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Vitå defense, Marius Macovei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig-Åke Bennet. The Vitå fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig-Åke Bennet should have stopped the shot. Hubert Olofsson kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Ilie in the 40th minute of play forced Vitå's goalkeeper Stig-Åke Bennet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vali Barbăsură was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Vasiliu in the 53rd minute of play forced Vitå's goalkeeper Stig-Åke Bennet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Vali Barbăsură left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arsenal Giulesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. 59 minutes into the game, Marius Macovei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Stig-Åke Bennet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eliodor Urdoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Arsenal Giulesti booed when Vitå was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Michael Vidman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Vitå's goal looked a bit too open when Sandu Vasiliu came free, but Stig-Åke Bennet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eskil Hellqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Petre Zbârciog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig-Åke Bennet having to interfere. Stig-Åke Bennet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Vali Barbăsură cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Stig-Åke Bennet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 84th minute, Iurie Ilie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stig-Åke Bennet was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. In the 87th minute, Vali Barbăsură ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stig-Åke Bennet was frozen by the shot and now it was 13-0. Stig-Åke Bennet came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal Giulesti's Vali Barbăsură. But to his dismay, Vali Barbăsură quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 14-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Iurie Ilie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal Giulesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Iurie Ilie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stig-Åke Bennet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arsenal Giulesti's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
