An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Funes in the 9th minute of play forced Urbs LC's goalkeeper Eugenio Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Barovero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Ihazintu in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Alf Runeberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute of the match, Hector Enrique tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eugenio Santoro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 23rd minute River CBBA were awarded a corner. Sergio Batista went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Argoitz Abeijon managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Juan Funes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Santoro having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, River CBBA's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Ihazintu came free, but Marcelo Barovero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Di Marzio in the 43rd minute of play forced River CBBA's goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Argoitz Abeijon got free with Eugenio Santoro in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juan Funes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eugenio Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Funes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Urbs LC's goal looked a bit too open when Boğaçhan Akyel came free, but Eugenio Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Marcelo Barovero successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Urbs LC made a substitution. Boško Balaban replaced Ennio Di Marzio. The supporters of Urbs LC booed when River CBBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Ihazintu in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Barovero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Urbs LC's zone, Ponciano Abarca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Santoro came out of the goal and Ponciano Abarca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. River CBBA's Marcelo Barovero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save River CBBA from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Ponciano Abarca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Santoro was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Marcelo Barovero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pastor Ihazintu in the 88th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Ihazintu in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
