William Trigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Telo went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Espín AFC's Gerardo Gentza got control of the ball when Oséias Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 26 played minutes Caveira SC got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton da Costa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Telo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Trigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 28 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Cordarin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espín AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caveira SC the free kick. With his leg Gerardo Gentza managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Caveira SC's Oséias Vidal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 31st match minute, Espín AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Bermudo to maneuver through the defense. Gerardo Gentza made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Oséias Vidal sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Espín AFC's Gerardo Gentza got control of the ball when Durval Toscano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Elivélton da Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gerardo Gentza. The goal made the score 2-1. Gerardo Gentza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Toscano in the 42nd minute of play. Bonifacio Donostia hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Oséias Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Gentza having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oséias Vidal made a kick off. During the 52nd minute of the match Elivélton da Costa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Elivélton da Costa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Caveira SC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Elivélton da Costa hit a great ball. Anibal Estevon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Trigo having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Caveira SC's zone, Justo Otsoko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Trigo came out of the goal and Justo Otsoko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Telo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without William Trigo having to make a save. Durval Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Justo Otsoko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Oséias Vidal fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caveira SC's protests and gave Oséias Vidal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Oséias Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Oséias Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerardo Gentza came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Caveira SC's Durval Toscano. But to his dismay, Durval Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Wilfredo Cordarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. William Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Anibal Estevon fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espín AFC's protests and gave Anibal Estevon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Anibal Estevon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Toscano in the 88th minute of play forced Espín AFC's goalkeeper Gerardo Gentza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes, Justo Otsoko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Espín AFC and the Caveira SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Cordarin in the 95th minute of play forced Caveira SC's goalkeeper William Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
