When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rolando Lopez sped through Möhnsen FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emerson Ferraz. Timo Schinnenburg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Ioan Voicu made a huge save. Emerson Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Laurendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Freiherr in the 23rd minute of play. Ioan Voicu was a little too slow when Leo Freiherr got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-1. 26 minutes into the match, Möhnsen FC's Timo Schinnenburg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ioan Voicu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hermengildo Raymon hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Guido Burgstaller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Ioan Voicu made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jens Albers during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Möhnsen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Albers to maneuver through the defense. Emerson Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Correia in the 34th minute of the match. Möhnsen FC's Leo Freiherr got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Costică Juverdeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Lopez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45thth minute of the game Cristiano Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Möhnsen FC's Emerson Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Club Atlético Temperley were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Möhnsen FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hector Fernandez took the corner. Club Atlético Temperley's Hector Fernandez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emerson Ferraz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With 48 minutes on the clock, Costică Juverdeanu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 48 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Möhnsen FC! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guido Burgstaller made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Correia in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emerson Ferraz saved Möhnsen FC from getting behind. Gaston Laurendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Ferraz having to interfere. Orlando Cordarell kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Möhnsen FC's Emerson Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Möhnsen FC from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute of the match, Aníbal Solares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emerson Ferraz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emerson Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Club Atlético Temperley's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hector Fernandez in the 68th minute. Gaston Laurendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Möhnsen FC got a freekick which was hit by Leo Freiherr. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Burgstaller in the 85th minute of play forced Club Atlético Temperley's goalkeeper Ioan Voicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ioan Voicu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Möhnsen FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
