In the 13th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xu Li Sang to maneuver through the defense. Marco van Bastens short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Alex Pihl to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Alex Pihl successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 19 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xu Li Sang. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when SK Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Libesoons didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peng Xu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Marco van Basten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Alex Pihl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Xu Li Sang came free, but Alex Pihl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Olofsson came free, but Manoel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lennart Libesoons in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manoel Neuer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jovens Democratas MZC:s Manoel Neuer showed great skill when he stopped Leif Olofsson:s penalty. Alex Pihl made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Xu Li Sang sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Dobromir Zagrodny came free, but Alex Pihl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco van Basten succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Durval de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Durval de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Pihl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manoel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Olofsson in the 44th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xu Li Sang made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xu Li Sang in the 52nd minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Cornel Ulici could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Manoel Neuer however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the SK Mons defense, Lúcio Cruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Pihl. The SK Mons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Pihl should have stopped the shot. In the 61st minute, Marco van Basten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Li Sang in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Cruz in the 65th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Xu Li Sang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Pihl was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. In the 70th minute, Dobromir Zagrodny made a precise shot to the right of Alex Pihl. SK Mons's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Sabóia in the 74th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Serginho Sabóia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jovens Democratas MZC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. SK Mons's Alex Pihl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho Sabóia in the 79th minute of play. The corner ended in Dobromir Zagrodny almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SK Mons's Alex Pihl did a great save. In the 85th minute Dobromir Zagrodny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Pihl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Jerom Vrijdag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Sabóia in the 88th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Pihl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serginho Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Sabóia in the 92nd minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Alex Pihl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Pihl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Pihl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dobromir Zagrodny in the 95th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Jovens Democratas MZC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
