Cássio Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gartzi Domingo in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's goal looked a bit too open when Porfirio Regulez came free, but Cássio Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Cafu Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Porfirio Regulez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gartzi Domingo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Gilberto Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gartzi Domingo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cássio Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After 46 played minutes ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Nunes. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Gaspar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ALIANZA 1901 were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cirilo Castellvi took the corner. Cássio Gaspar made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Gartzi Domingo sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st match minute, ALIANZA 1901 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veremundo Varona to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Cássio Gaspar managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when ALIANZA 1901's Gartzi Domingo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 89 minutes into the match, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's goalkeeper Cássio Gaspar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gartzi Domingo. The ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ALIANZA 1901 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
