In the 3rd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Severo Rubio hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. In the 11th match minute, Atlético Micaelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Godinho to maneuver through the defense. The Atlético Micaelense fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Atlético Micaelense's Alcides Lobo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Honorato Lluciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alcides Lobo in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Atlético Micaelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Paixão to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Barreal FC's Severo Rubio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alexandre Paixão. That made the score 1-1 after 19 minutes of play. After 25 minutes of play, Atlético Micaelense's Alcides Lobo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Honorato Lluciano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Torcato Paião kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Atlético Micaelense's Torcato Paião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Honorato Lluciano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Honorato Lluciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alcides Lobo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barreal FC's Honorato Lluciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torcato Paião in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Severo Rubio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severo Rubio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Alexandre Paixão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alcides Lobo to make the kick off. Atlético Micaelense's Alexandre Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Leguizamón in the 53rd minute of play. If Alcides Lobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Atlético Micaelense booed when Barreal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Orlondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alcides Lobo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Honorato Lluciano made a huge save. Ulises Ihintza's late challenge caught a Atlético Micaelense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulises Ihintza helped the player get up and apologised. Hermano Amaro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Hermano Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Lluciano having to interfere. Honorato Lluciano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alcides Lobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Atlético Micaelense's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Leguizamón came free, but Alexandre Paixão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alcides Lobo got free with Honorato Lluciano in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atlético Micaelense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
