Ernesto Sesuldo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the game, José Augusto Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ypiranga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.A. Cachila the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ypiranga FC's José Augusto Seco got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Victoriano Paio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A. Cachila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Paio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Adrianinho Fantini fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ypiranga FC's protests and gave Adrianinho Fantini a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of A.A. Cachila booed when Ypiranga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto Píriz Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Augusto Veiga made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Ypiranga FC got a freekick which was hit by Célio Ferraz. Ronaldão Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Píriz Alves in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Píriz Alves in the 57th minute of play forced Ypiranga FC's goalkeeper Ronaldão Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beto Píriz Alves in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldão Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute Beto Píriz Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldão Ceresso came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by A.A. Cachila's Beto Píriz Alves. But to his dismay, Beto Píriz Alves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 68 minutes into the game, Joaquim Coutinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beto Píriz Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Ceresso having to interfere. Ypiranga FC's Ronaldão Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Píriz Alves in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ypiranga FC's zone, Beto Píriz Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldão Ceresso came out of the goal and Beto Píriz Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When José Augusto Seco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. A collision led to Ypiranga FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. José Augusto Seco hit a great ball. If Victoriano Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoriano Paio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Píriz Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Victoriano Paio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldão Ceresso skillfully saved the ball. If Beto Píriz Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ypiranga FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though A.A. Cachila had controlled the match.
