With a little luck, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Luca Brădescu got control of the ball when Andries Mangelschot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luca Brădescu was a little too slow when Andries Mangelschot got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 14th minute, Dinu Slicaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Dumitru Bogătean came free, but Abraham Van Linthoud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luca Brădescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andries Mangelschot in the 24th minute. Abraham Van Linthoud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Slicaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abraham Van Linthoud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Slicaru in the 27th minute of the match. Abraham Van Linthoud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Stănoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Miguel Van Mechelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Andries Mangelschot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luca Brădescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Dumitru Bogătean couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for YR Mechelen. Alan Wirinckx's late challenge caught a GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Wirinckx helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Alan Wirinckx hit a great ball. When GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Dinu Slicaru in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye YR Mechelen's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Van Mechelen to make the kick off. Luca Brădescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Van Mechelen in the 53rd minute of play. Lucian Grădinaru kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Dumitru Bogătean took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abraham Van Linthoud. Abraham Van Linthoud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dumitru Bogătean got free with Abraham Van Linthoud in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Paul Stănoiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abraham Van Linthoud narrowly saved just below the crossbar. YR Mechelen's Abraham Van Linthoud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save YR Mechelen from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Medeleanu in the 67th minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Abraham Van Linthoud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luca Brădescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andries Mangelschot went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. 73 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's Miguel Van Mechelen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luca Brădescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luca Brădescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andries Mangelschot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dinu Slicaru in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abraham Van Linthoud prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Viorel Crăcană made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by YR Mechelen's Tobias Smidts. In the 82nd minute Miguel Van Mechelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luca Brădescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for YR Mechelen! The goalkeeper, Abraham Van Linthoud, was totally fooled by GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Dumitru Bogătean, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Paul Stănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Luca Brădescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Van Mechelen in the 96th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
