Mazinho Correia's late challenge caught a Várzea F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho Correia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th minute, Mazinho Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeu Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elenko Hrulev in the 7th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdomiro Duarte in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovanni Pena saved Júbilo Iwata from getting behind. Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Júbilo Iwata from getting a goal against them. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elenko Hrulev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Várzea F.C. defense, Zé Roberto Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeu Batista. The Várzea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeu Batista should have stopped the shot. Aníbal Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Romeu Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Lira in the 20th minute of play. Jano Paiva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Romeu Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Lira in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Marcel Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Batista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcel Lira's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Mazinho Correia got his second yellow card in the match during the 31st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Mazinho Correia hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Marcel Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute of the match, Filipe Mendonça tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovanni Pena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Várzea F.C.'s Aníbal Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeu Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elenko Hrulev in the 37th minute of play. Albertinho Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elenko Hrulev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Roberto Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Batista having to interfere. When Elenko Hrulev fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Júbilo Iwata's protests and gave Elenko Hrulev a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Júbilo Iwata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elenko Hrulev didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Romeu Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elenko Hrulev, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Zé Roberto Velasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Batista having to make a save. Albertinho Travassos hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Júbilo Iwata's Marquinhos Leme was substituted for Elenko Hrulev. In the 57th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Travassos to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Marquinhos Leme left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Júbilo Iwata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Giovanni Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jano Paiva in the 65th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Alessandro Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Várzea F.C.'s zone, Zé Roberto Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Batista came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marquinhos Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giovanni Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Paiva in the 82nd minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goal looked a bit too open when Jano Paiva came free, but Giovanni Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marquinhos Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Leme in the 84th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Roberto Velasco in the 87th minute. Romeu Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marquinhos Leme in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Leme in the 89th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Mendonça. Júbilo Iwata's Chico Mendonça shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Romeu Batista but with some difficulty. Júbilo Iwata's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
