An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Almeida in the 17th minute of play forced São Francisco FC86's goalkeeper Mauro Castilho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Castilho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Guerreiro in the 19th minute of play. If Aparício Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arturo Filippini was slow to take the kick. During this time Sport Club Mavericks's players had a chance to rest. Mauro Castilho came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Club Mavericks's Honorio Efraim. But to his dismay, Honorio Efraim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sport Club Mavericks eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
