After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Franck Bakhuis got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Mauricio Teofilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Wilco Kosterman notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Academia de Campeones's Ove Glanselius. Ove Glanselius was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ruud Geels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk-Jan Opdam in the 28th minute of play forced Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Ove Glanselius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Academia de Campeones's goal looked a bit too open when Wilco Kosterman came free, but Ove Glanselius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Verwachting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco Kosterman to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauricio Teofilio made a kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Ove Glanselius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theo Zoontjens. With a little luck, Academia de Campeones's Ove Glanselius got control of the ball when Theo Zoontjens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ove Glanselius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Geels, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Mauricio Teofilio might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kees Veentjer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After recieving a nice pass, Verwachting's Theo Zoontjens tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Kees Veentjer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Ospetsu in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Geels in the 73rd minute of play forced Academia de Campeones's goalkeeper Ove Glanselius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Academia de Campeones's Ove Glanselius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Academia de Campeones from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Verwachting's Theo Zoontjens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ove Glanselius. That made the score 0-2 after 76 minutes of play. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Teofilio in the 96th minute of play.
