With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evaristo Castro in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Gustavson saved New Joinville - FSCMZ from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Castro in the 18th minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Sein in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Laurgain Ruiz came free, but Gustavo Gustavson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MAZER SAF's Alan Almeida quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo was the one to do the kick off. Gustavo Gustavson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurgain Ruiz's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Lucas Sjödin's late challenge caught a MAZER SAF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
