POSSE 1911 FC's Feliberto Gaskon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Zamorano in the 3rd minute of play. Juan Pedro Owen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Xabel in the 7th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Podador Arraño in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by POSSE 1911 FC's Venancio Dimas. 12 minutes into the match, CRUZ DEL SUR's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Xabel came free, but Juan Pedro Owen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. POSSE 1911 FC's Godfredo Xabel got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute of the match POSSE 1911 FC got a corner. CRUZ DEL SUR's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Venancio Dimas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Venancio Dimas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CRUZ DEL SUR's Juan Pedro Owen did a great save. Feliberto Gaskon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aaron Zamorano's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Aaron Zamorano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliberto Gaskon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Melchor Mannuel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. POSSE 1911 FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melchor Mannuel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Godfredo Xabel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Juan Pedro Owen. In the last second Juan Pedro Owen throw himself and got hold of the ball when Celestino Etxeberri in the 41stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Vicente Tolhauzsen fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CRUZ DEL SUR's protests and gave Vicente Tolhauzsen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CRUZ DEL SUR's Vicente Tolhauzsen got a free kick in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aaron Zamorano made a kick off. Xulián Artaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Feliberto Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Godfredo Xabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. CRUZ DEL SUR's Xulián Artaño got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Godfredo Xabel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Juan Pedro Owen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godfredo Xabel in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Pedro Owen saved CRUZ DEL SUR from getting behind. Xulián Artaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Feliberto Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Zeledon Madaleno fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored POSSE 1911 FC's protests and gave Zeledon Madaleno a yellow card for diving instead. Zeledon Madaleno kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. During this time CRUZ DEL SUR's players had a chance to rest. 87 minutes into the game, one of POSSE 1911 FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Feliberto Gaskon, was totally fooled by CRUZ DEL SUR's Aaron Zamorano, who 89 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Zeledon Madaleno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. POSSE 1911 FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Aaron Zamorano scored to the left of an out of position Feliberto Gaskon, making the score, 1-2. The CRUZ DEL SUR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CRUZ DEL SUR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
