Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Ermis Kalaitzis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 23 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's Bengt-Åke Thidén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermis Kalaitzis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of ♏ⒶⓃⒶⓈⓉⒶⓈⒾ Ⓕ.Ⓒ♏ booed when Linköpings AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Åke Thidén didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermis Kalaitzis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Sjödin in the 40th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Jonatan Andersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giannis Moustakas in the 52nd minute of play. With a little luck, Linköpings AIK's Jonatan Andersson got control of the ball when Ntemis Nikolaidis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bengt-Åke Thidén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ermis Kalaitzis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonatan Andersson made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Ntemis Nikolaidis sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Linköpings AIK defense, Ntemis Nikolaidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonatan Andersson. The Linköpings AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonatan Andersson should have stopped the shot. When Alkaios Sioulas came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the ♏ⒶⓃⒶⓈⓉⒶⓈⒾ Ⓕ.Ⓒ♏ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alkaios Sioulas couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the ♏ⒶⓃⒶⓈⓉⒶⓈⒾ Ⓕ.Ⓒ♏ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Linköpings AIK.
