Gwidon Cwojdak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Tony Schumacher made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Gerardo Ibar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tony Schumacher. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gwidon Cwojdak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
