The coaching staff of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hélder Lara had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 11 minutes into the game, one of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Hovby IF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Sigvard Damm hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Valeriu Toacsen got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viking Maagaardshus in the 22nd minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Gerardo Ibar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerardo Ibar hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 余永川 kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Hovby IF's Allan Malmberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Jonas Lundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Orvar Engström came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Gwidon Cwojdak. But to his dismay, Gwidon Cwojdak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After some careless play in the Hovby IF defense, Gwidon Cwojdak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orvar Engström. The Hovby IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orvar Engström should have stopped the shot. Gwidon Cwojdak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Orvar Engström having to make a save.

The wind increased when Gwidon Cwojdak made the kick off in the second half. If Allan Malmberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, 余永川 notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Hovby IF's Orvar Engström. Orvar Engström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 60 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by 余永川. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Hovby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Siggesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute 余永川 suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 71st minute, Sten Siggesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Adelino Simão was substituted for Dagoberto Vieira. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Olavo Quadros replaced Douglas Botelho. Sten Siggesson hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwidon Cwojdak in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orvar Engström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute Jonas Lundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Bufi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Gwidon Cwojdak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Orvar Engström. That made the score 1-6 after 87 minutes of play. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Orvar Engström successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rolf Löv's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolf Löv helped the player get up and apologised. When the match was over Cruzeiro Esporte Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hovby IF throughout the match.
