The supporters of Calopsita EC booed when C.F Intercity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the C.F Intercity defense, Inácio Trancoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pablo-Enrique Ibanez. The C.F Intercity fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pablo-Enrique Ibanez should have stopped the shot. With his leg Ulysses Novaes managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when C.F Intercity's Xano Belalcaraz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Rodriguez in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulysses Novaes saved Calopsita EC from getting behind. If Inácio Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The C.F Intercity fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when C.F Intercity's Pedro Rodriguez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Xano Belalcaraz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Ulysses Novaes made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Rodriguez in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulysses Novaes saved Calopsita EC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Calopsita EC's zone, Matt Le Tissier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Novaes came out of the goal and Matt Le Tissier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xano Belalcaraz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ulysses Novaes firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Pedro Rodriguez made the kick off in the second half. Ulysses Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xano Belalcaraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After having played for 53 minutes, Inácio Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calopsita EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Prospero Cuadrado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calopsita EC's Nilson Silva was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pablo-Enrique Ibanez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, C.F Intercity's Pablo-Enrique Ibanez got control of the ball when Inácio Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xano Belalcaraz struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Ulysses Novaes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.F Intercity. When Calopsita EC's Semih Şentürk, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Calopsita EC. Pablo-Enrique Ibanez made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Semih Şentürk sent off a good shot on target. Prospero Cuadrado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ulysses Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.F Intercity's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Siniša Mihajlović in the 89th minute. A well done corner resulted in Matt Le Tissier drilling the ball in to score 3-1 behind Calopsita EC's goalkeeper.
