Almir Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Urbes's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Almir Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Urbes in the 15th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lamine Barbarin during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Olympique Salonais's Lamine Barbarin got a free kick in the 18th minute. Almir Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Urbes's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Terry Ménager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Almir Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chadli Said in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Olympique Salonais's goal looked a bit too open when Chadli Said came free, but Almir Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Candido Urbes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Almir Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Evert Wahlnäs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellbystrand IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Wahlnäs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Almir Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mellbystrand IK's Vasil Krezhov quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yann Dieumegard, made in the 36th minute of the game. Fritz Wiberg hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Olympique Salonais's Almir Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Urbes in the 42nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilton França during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Olympique Salonais's Florian Amouroux was substituted for Léonard Kwiatkowski. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Candido Urbes to make the kick off. Almir Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Candido Urbes sent off a good shot on target. Joseph Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertrand Requier in the 57th minute of the match. Almir Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Urbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Magne Holmberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mellbystrand IK's Magne Holmberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Almir Sarmento in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Almir Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Urbes's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After 72 minutes, Candido Urbes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Olympique Salonais's Almir Sarmento tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Olympique Salonais's Julien Jeannot was substituted for Yann Dieumegard. The tension between the Olympique Salonais and the Mellbystrand IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Candido Urbes in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Almir Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Lamine Barbarin came free, but Joseph Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Urbes in the 96th minute of the match. Mellbystrand IK played a much better game than Olympique Salonais and deserved their victory. The Olympique Salonais players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
