Michalis Svirkos started the match with the kick off. In the 13thth minute of the game Zlatko Goričan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KAFSONAS F.C.'s Telis Ikonomou was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kosmas Kouroupetroglou in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Konstantin Pančur saved HIT Gorica from getting behind. A collision led to HIT Gorica getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Antoni Zdrojewski hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, KAFSONAS F.C.'s Lefteris Alexoulis got a free kick in the 29th minute. László Tar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Telis Ikonomou. KAFSONAS F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 32nd minute Lefteris Alexoulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Pančur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duško Turnšek struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Telis Ikonomou didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HIT Gorica. Duško Turnšek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Telis Ikonomou made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duško Turnšek in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Telis Ikonomou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 41 played minutes HIT Gorica got a freekick which was hit by Quentin Willmott. After having played for 42 minutes, Lefteris Alexoulis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAFSONAS F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Lefteris Alexoulis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Duško Turnšek made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of HIT Gorica booed when KAFSONAS F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kosmas Kouroupetroglou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Telis Ikonomou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duško Turnšek, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, KAFSONAS F.C.'s Kosmas Kouroupetroglou nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Konstantin Pančur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 63 minutes, Michalis Svirkos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience was convinced that Brite McCready's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Telis Ikonomou was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Brite McCready put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Telis Ikonomou. In the 94th match minute, HIT Gorica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Istok Šabotić to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the KAFSONAS F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
